The renovations are complete, the white tablecloths are gone, and there's rotisserie chicken on the menu. Today, RingSide Steakhouse East is reborn as the more casual RingSide Grill.
RingSide Hospitality Group, which owns the venerable RingSide Steakhouse and the upscale RingSide Fish House downtown, closed its 36-year-old east side outpost at the Glendoveer Golf Course in January to revamp the decor and menu. It now has more windows, a larger bar and lounge, and 100 more seats.
Executive chef Kevin Schantz has loosened up the menu with comfort food classics like burgers, steaks, and flatbread pizzas. Pastry chef Nick Flores has introduced a frozen custard program with toppings like bourbon caramel, devil's food cake and Jacobsen Salt, or Oregon berries, sour cream cheesecake, and graham crunch.
They've even ventured into some of the restaurant scene's latest trends. You can pick up a whole rotisserie chicken with side dishes to go after 4 p.m. And the bar offers two cocktails on tap, plus craft beers, wines and ciders available to go in two sizes of growlers.
RingSide Grill: 14021 NE Glisan Street Portland, 503-255-0750. Hours: open for lunch, dinner and happy hour daily.
