It's not unusual for things to get out of hand during the monthly Last Thursday celebrations on NE Alberta. In fact, police have been wanting to shut it down for years.
But last night's street party went beyond rowdy into the realm of crime scene. According to news reports, yesterday evening a 16-year-old suspect shot and wounded two 15-year-old boys and a 25-year-old woman outside Don Pancho Taqueria and Market at 2000 NE Alberta.
Police believe the shooting was gang related, but they're not sure if the victims were targets or bystanders. The suspect was caught a few blocks away and booked into juvenile jail. The victims were taken to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Apparently, they weren't the only ones who suffered. According to this article from The Oregonian, "Police closed the local Salt and Straw ice cream shop, prompting cries of protest from the crowd."
