Screen Door Adds Daily Brunch and Southern Sandwiches

Is this the end of the lines?

Screen Door has come to represent all that is insane in Portland's brunch scene: The epic lines, the over-laden plates, the sheer volume of Southern-fried decadence. But there was one way in which the restaurant wasn't keeping up with the city's appetites — its brunch was only available on weekends. In this day and age and city, weekend-only brunch is downright old-school. We want breakfast for lunch every day, and as of Thursday, June 11, Eat Beat reports that Screen Door will comply.

The restaurant, which hits its 10th anniversary in August, is adding daily daytime hours starting tomorrow. In addition to the brunch menu you know and love, they're adding a lunch menu centered around more than a dozen Southern-influenced sandwiches, like muffalettas and po'boys, plus salads and vegetable-centric dishes.
