Le Pigeon is taking a summer break the week of June 13 through 19, and while chef Gabe Rucker's away, he's handing over the keys to the kingdom to two cooks and a bartender from the Le Pigeon/Little Bird flock.

On Thursday June 18 from 6 p.m. to midnight, Le Pigeon pastry assistant Jaclyn Nakashima, Little Bird sous chef Andrew Gordon, and former Little Bird bartender Tom Lindstedt are putting on a casual, locally sourced, comfort-food pop-up at the East Burnside restaurant. Dubbed "South Broke Da Mouth," the pop-up's a la carte menu is a mix of Southern barbecue with a Hawaiian bent. All items will be $10 and under, and all will be made from scratch, including the Hawaiian buns for the pulled pork sandwiches with Memphis-style smoked pork shoulder, grilled pineapple, coleslaw and barbecue sauce.

Lindstedt will be making cocktails, including a "Hawaiian Punch." There will also be a canned beer and a non alcoholic option. No reservations required. Get more info here.
