The wood-oven-powered hybrid pizza and baked goods operation from Handsome Pizza and Seastar Bakery is getting close. Construction began last month, sheet rocking began this week, and — as of today — proprietors Will Fain and Matt Kedzie plan to open the doors of their permanent base in "late July." Fain is a self-taught master of pizza and also has a background in theater and design, so he’s the man behind building the restaurant space. The menu is still coming together, but we do know that espresso drinks, pastries, toast and sandwiches from Seastar will be offered in the morning. Handsome's farm-y pizzas will swing in for lunch and dinner. Once the collabo opens, you'll probably also be able to buy a new age ice cream sundae from a bicycle for dessert. Meanwhile, with Podnah's Pit Barbecue, Prospect Bottleshop & Bar and Tea Bar chugging along next door, this little block of Northeast is shaping up quite nicely.
