Before 10 Barrel Brewing's glitzy Pearl District opening; before its bigtime sale to Anheuser-Busch, there was the matter of 'Swill' — the would-be innocuous seasonal summer beer they had to recall due to over-carbonation.
Now 10 Barrel is taking another crack at Swill, but after last year's fuss, they've scrapped the grapefruit sour recipe and have reimagined the beer with a new lemon radler recipe. Per 10 Barrel's menu:
"Remember last year's F up with our grapefruit bottle rockets? This year we decided to brew a stable American radler using lemon instead. We take risks. You win some, you lose some. In 2015, we're bringing it back and making it right."
And there's something bigger brewing: 10 Barrel's rooftop patio will seat 90 people comfortably and feature a bar of its own. Table service will also be available. The plan is to open by late August. So you could presumably be perched on 10 Barrel's rooftop, looking out over the Southwest hills with a pint of Swill in hand, before the season ends.
