CHEF SHUFFLES — Chef Morgan Brownlow doesn't usually make his restaurant moves quietly, but we recently found out the talented but cantankerous chef has been working the kitchen at The People's Pig since it went brick-and-mortar late last summer. The white-hot-but-humble food cart-turned-barbecue joint has been earning serious accolades and a rabid following. Considering it's running on the combined talents of Brownlow and owner Cliff Allen, a Nostrana alum, it should be no surprise.
OWNER SHUFFLES — After 15 years, Le Happy creperie founder John Brodie has sold the Slabtown restaurant. The new owners, Juan and Brie Ana Escalante, took over this spring, updating the website, and adding steaks, salads, and gluten-free crepe options. Most things remain the same, though the "Le Trash" crepe and PBR happy hour special is now dubbed Savoir Faire. It's still just $5, though, and Le Happy is still open late.
