The Old Gold guys are behind it all; and none of the bartenders will "look like Macklemore."

From the bourbon- and whiskey-loving minds at The Old Gold comes word of Paydirt, a "dedicated drinking establishment" in the artsy confines of new micro-restaurant project The Zipper. Paydirt will feature a massive 50-plus-foot bar underneath a towering collection of bourbons, 12 beers on tap, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. The patio will also have a pair of firepits for those nippy nights. While the bar may not serve food, there's a lot to eat under the same roof: Bywater Grocery po' boys, Slice pizza, ChickPeaDX's falafel sandwiches, and RUA's Vietnamese. Caraeff has more on the style of drinks to expect:  "Our cocktail list will be seriously crafted and playful, yet absent of all Portland pretense. Unfortunately, none of our bartenders will wear suspenders or look like Macklemore."
