Eat Sizzling Farm-Fresh Meats at Biwa's Open Air Chicken Shack Kotori

Biwa's next-door "open-air fantasy chicken snack world" Kotori opened last night. Owners Gabe Rosen and Kina Voelz oversaw a busy night's worth of charcoal-grilled yakitori, cold beer and sake. The shtick at Kotori is all farm-fresh chicken parts and vegetables, grilled al fresco next to an outdoor standing bar full of Asian beers, wine, sake and cocktails. There's even some kalbi (barbecued beef short rib) thrown into the mix. The whole deal sits on a gravel expanse under the trees at 9th and Pine, right next to BiwaVisit Kotori Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. until the sun sets.
