Chef Kyo Koo is moving on from Pearl District power lunch destination Bluehour as of today, Tuesday July 21. When reached today on the phone for comment, Koo says the split was amicable and "what's next is under wraps for now." He also elaborated a bit, saying that Bluehour's evolving philosophy didn't quite match up with the professional direction he wanted to head, so the spit was mutual.
Effective today, chef Chris Carriker will move in to the executive chef position. According to Bluehour personnel, Carriker has been part of the family for many years and even met his wife on the line at the restaurant. He'll continue the modernized ingredient-driven menu the restaurant is known for and he plans to feature more local seafood, preserved items, wild and wood fruit, and foraged ingredient in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates.
