This Weekend Marks Portland's First Support Black Restaurants Days

To join the movement, eat out at any of the restaurants on this huge list

August 29 and 30 are Portland Support Black Restaurant Days, a movement begun by Bertha Pearl, a Portlander inspired by Support Black Restaurant Days in San Francisco. The mission of the Portland event is not specifically expressed anywhere, but Pearl has connected the idea of supporting black-owned restaurants with raising awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement.

According to the event page, 4,300 people plan to dine out at black-owned restaurants this weekend. Comments on the page have supported the event with free rides to restaurants and by sharing the news of which restaurants are black-owned.

To help diners join the cause, Portland Support Black Restaurant Days offers the following one-of-a-kind list of black-owned restaurants in Portland:
