According to an article published by The Oregonian on Tuesday, Erik Van Kley, a former chef at Gabriel Rucker's Little Bird Bistro, is honing in on an opening date for Taylor Railworks, a "refined American" restaurant next door to John Gorham's Plaza del Toro in the Central Eastside Industrial District. Last month, Van Kley told Eater that Taylor Railworks could open as early as late-August, and The Oregonian reports that Van Kley now expects to open the first week of September.
To launch Taylor Railworks, Chef Van Kley has teamed up with life partner Gabriella Ramos (Nostrana, Toro Bravo, Yakuza Lounge, and Le Pigeon) and former Little Bird manager Daniel Neely. Each day, the 50-seat restaurant will serve five raw plates, five small plates, five large plates, and five sweet plates.
