In what is sure to either make you laugh or cry, New York Times writer Freda Moon published an article on the best things to do in Portland and within 24 hours, said that she's really not that into us on Twitter. Willamette Week caught the news first, before Moon deleted the Tweet, which read:
Here's the amusing thing about all the "UGH, the NYT is writing about Portland AGAIN" comments: I actually don't like Portland very much.

Moon's Twitter account is abuzz today, and the comments section of the article was turned off. Here is some of what's going on:
I could kiss whoever it was at the @nytimestravel desk that decided to turn off the comments on my "36 Hours in Portland."

I'm overstating. I like PDX just fine. And there are people there that I love dearly. But good grief, the coolness grates.
— Freda Moon (@fredamoon) September 10, 2015
@MarkAEvertz I'm fine with what I wrote. I think that PDX is great. I don't think that the anti-outsiders rhetoric is great.

I don't like the idea that any place is too cool to welcome newcomers or visitors. I can understand it. But it does grate.

@fredamoon You’re right about PDX, and I live here. It’s like a big town and very too cool. So props for being honest. 1 love

@fredamoon sorry if you didn't like the "no Californians" stickers. We're working on "no Freda Moon" stickers as we speak.

@BallaBo Sure. The Californians who couldn't afford California. I get the resentment, but it's still not very neighborly.
— Freda Moon (@fredamoon) September 10, 2015
@fredamoon Well, that's not very journalismy.

Hahaha. Slowest news day in history, I'm guessing? http://t.co/m2B9Nwm4q6

So many diapers to change today. #literally #alsofiguratively

For the record, it's not a slow news day. A lot of people just find this hilarious. And the conversation is still going.
