The long-awaited day is almost here: Chopsticks II, aka Chopsticks Express, the popular karaoke dive bar located on East Burnside, will turn off its PA on September 19, only to break into I Will Survive and reopen. According to Willamette Week, the first day at the new location at 3390 Northeast Sandy Blvd is September 26.
Chopsticks II will move into a space formerly home to the Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club, operated by an alleged pimp, and the Mynt strip club, run by a man who once held man-vs-bear wrestling matches in Ohio.
Owner David Chow will throw a party to close the East Burnside location. He first opened Chopsticks in Portland in 1995.
