LOVEJOY BAKERS -- This Saturday, the Orange MAX line opens across Tilikum Crossing. Not only will TriMet let you ride all of its buses and MAX lines for free all day, but the Moody Street location of Lovejoy Bakers on the South Waterfront will hand out coupons for free cookies and Stumptown coffee.

MI MERO MOLE -- This is the year of the Donald Trump pinata. So just see what happens when Mexican Independence Day is the same day as the second GOP debate: The Chinatown location of Mi Mero Mole strings up Donald Trump pinatas and serves discounted drinks ($2.50 pints, $4 margaritas). It goes down September 16 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

FEAST -- Feast is upping its game for the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting, that huge event in the Square featuring food and drink samples from local producers of all kinds. This year, it introduces the Feast Culinary Stage, described as a "super interactive experience" involving experts, tips, and panel discussions; for instance, in the Food TV Behind-The-Scenes Discussion, celebrity chefs Duff Holdman (Ace of Cakes) and Elizabeth Falkner (The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs; Top Chef Masters) share what it's like to be a reality cooking show participant. Tickets are still available for select events.
