Common Law is the newest member of Pine Street Market, the forthcoming Downtown dining hall curated by Feast co-founder Mike Thelin. Common Law will be operated by chef Patrick McKee, the chef who worked in Paley's Place for ten years before leaving in January, with financial backing from Langbaan's Earl Ninsom. McKee is turning toward dishes that will fuse European and Asian elements, after his recent stint at Laurelhurst Market.

According to Portland Monthly, Common Law will have 13 seats in addition to the large communal dining area inside of Pine Street Market. For lunch, it will serve such dishes as beef tongue banh mi topped with fried egg and grilled veggie sandwiches with house made herbed ricotta. For dinner, McKee is considering roasted poussin with tarragon butter, sashimi dishes, and braised oxtail.

Pine Street Market still aims for an early winter opening.
