Welcome to CascadiaWire, a weekly collection of restaurant news from up-and-down the Pacific Northwest corridor.

CHEF SHUFFLES -- Whoa, whoa, whoa. Big news in barbecue: Mike Law has moved on from Frelard's popular Bourbon and Bones, which he opened with business partner Mike McConnell (Via Tribunali, Caffe Vita) in January of last year. Law had built quite a reputation for his fried chicken and other southern dishes at the Wandering Goose, and he plotted Bourbon and Bones as his own venture. Chef William Belickis of Mistral Kitchen has taken over the restaurant, and the Belltown legendScott Carsberg (formerly of the now shuttered Lampriea and Bisato, and most recently at Frans Chocolates) has also joined the creative team. McConnell and his wife Liz remain the owners.

BEER HERE -- The proliferation of Seattle craft breweries is positively mind boggling, with new openings announced seemingly every month. It's tough to go wrong at almost any brewery in the city, but a few breweries truly stand out above the pack, setting the bar high for the rest of the group. Here now, Eater Seattle's picks for 13 of the best breweries within Seattle city limits.

EATER INSIDE -- The new Kedai Makan space opened quietly on Capitol Hill this weekend following the closure of the beloved restaurant's walk-up window. Now Kedai Makan has actual seating, a closed kitchen, many more food offerings, and a liquor license--big changes for the formerly bare-bones take-out spot. Eater Seattle has the photos to prove it.
