After 12 years in Northeast Portland, Russell St. Barbecue has remodeled the dining room, added a new smoker, and made a major menu overhaul. As reported by the O, Russell Street Barbecue has removed the classic red-and-white-checkered tablecloths and reopened with bare wooden tables, baby-chicken-yellow walls, and new mason-jar light fixtures. The new smoker uses white oak logs instead of wood chips, and co-owner Sharon Santucci says the restaurant can put more of its own mark on its barbecue.
As for the new tastily smoked menu items? Sharon and her partner Diane Santucci now serve smoked half chickens and smoked pork spare ribs, not to menu queso dip and chicken fried chicken. You can check out the full range of the stomach-rumbling possibilities on the updated menu on the website.
