Pip's Original Kicks Off Curry Favor Dinner Series | Press Café Opens in Beaverton

And Tapalaya showcases employees' talents with ramen pop-up.

NORTHEAST—Known for mini doughnuts and chai, Pip's Original is on the move, having launched its mobile truck in November and now launching its monthly Indian-comfort-food dinner series, Curry Favor. At 6 p.m. on January 18 inside the Pip's Original Community Room at 4759 NE Fremont St., owners Jamie and Nate Snell team up with Extracto Roasters Coffee to offer a coffee-inspired meal, including coffee cocktails, for $55. BEAVERTON—Featuring Stumptown coffee and pastries by Beaverton Bakery, Press Café opened January 10 at 16325 SW Barrows Rd., Beaverton. All this week, the cafe will donate a portion of its proceeds to local organizations like the Beaverton Library Foundation. [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST—New Orleans small plates restaurant Tapalaya will turn into a ramen pop-up on January 13 from 4 to 9:30 p.m., and similar to Ned Ludd's former Monday pizza nights, Tapalaya's pop-up will show off the talents of its employees.
