The ramen chain Marukin has nine locations around Tokyo, and last summer, it announced plans to open its first U.S. location inside of Pine Street Market in downtown Portland. Now the Oregonian reports Marukin will open a second Portland location at 609 SE Ankeny St., next door to the brick-and-mortar Nong's Khao Man Gai. Marukin tells Eater the Southeast location will open at the end of February and a grand opening has not yet been set. Marukin also tells Eater its Pine Street Market location will open February 14. Marukin Southeast is owned by Masa Hayashi and Hiroshi Kusuda, with local partner David Rademacher, and will feature the cooking talents of executive chef Sakai and chef Mayumi Hijikata.
