Located at 928 SE 9th Ave., Green Dragon Bistro & Pub is best known for its meet the brewer events and rotating selection of 62 taps (the same keg is never featured twice in a row), but it's now serving a menu full of collaborations with local food artisans, mostly based in Southeast Portland. Green Dragon says about ninety percent of its dishes are new.
As you can see from the menu below, you'll find items as humble as bar-top snack mix (aka Chex Mix) infused with Aardvark's hot sauce, and as melty as Pig N' Pasta, a three-cheese penne pasta with Sheridan Farms Green Chorizo. Green Dragon serves dishes to help you weather a hangover, too, such a fried Olympia Provisions mortadella-salami sandwich topped with yellow American cheese—not to mention a take on poutine that replace gravy with bacon and Choi's kimchi.
Green Dragon is owned by Rogue Brewery, but it isn't set up like Rogue's other brewpubs. Instead, it features beers from breweries around the world with a focus on the Pacific Northwest (usually, three taps are dedicated to Rogue brews, including experimental brews and brews featuring botanicals from the onsite garden). Green Dragon also has a patio, and in 2008, it was named one of the 100 Best Places to Drink Beer in America by Imbibe Magazine.
