Over the weekend, two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, caught up with two of Portland’s most famous chefs, and they shared it all on Instagram. Lively, world famous for her role in the smash-hit television show, Gossip Girl, and Reynolds, the leading man in action-packed Deadpool, visited Adam and Jackie Sappington, the husband-and-wife team behind The Country Cat Dinnerhouse and Bar, the Southeast Portland restaurant known for comforting Southern cooking and potent cocktails.

According to a post on Reynolds’ Instagram, he, Lively, and their two children “got schooled” by the “obscenely charming and funny” Sappingtons. “If anybody's looking for them, they're handcuffed to my stove until the next olympics,” the post reads. “I'll raise their two boys as if they were my own — which, frankly, is a terrible thing for all involved.” Lively and Reynolds gave birth to their second child two weeks ago.

The Country Cat Dinnerhouse and Bar is a long-time member of the Eater Portland 38, and last year, the Sappingtons were James Beard Foundation Cookbook Award finalists for their cookbook, Heartlandia: Heritage Recipes from Portland's The Country Cat. They also won the reality cooking show competition Chopped in 2015. Here are the full posts from Lively and Reynolds’ Instagram accounts:
