Kimchi pozole, a new brunch dish at La Moule

La Moule, the fashionable-as-all-get-out bar with European swagger on SE Clinton, isn’t just for happy hour and dinner anymore. According to PoMo, the restaurant from St. Jack’s Aaron Barnett and bar-star Tommy Klus (Multnomah Whiskey Library) is now serving brunch, and it currently runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays. La Moule has developed into more of a restaurant after launching as a Belgian mussels and frites bar in September 2015, and as the menu below shows, it’s drawing from a variety of global influences.

For something sweet, there’s a pastry platter and waffles topped with dulce de leche and cinnamon sugar; for something savory, there’s pozole pork and hominy stew, given a Korean twist with kimchi; and then there’s this breakfast poutine gut bomb: The fries come gasping for breath beneath porter gravy, Beecher’s cheese curds, bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and a sunny-side-up egg.

Of course, Klus is doing signature breakfast cocktails, like the Bonjour, a dry vermouth-based cocktail with pamplemousse, aveze, grapefruit bitters, and seltzer. Sparkling wines by the glass and plenty of Belgian beers round out the drink menu. Here’s the full list of options:
