Headed by former Little Bird Bistro executive chef Erik Van Kley, Taylor Railworks is now serving a honed version of its dinner menu for lunch, Tuesday through Friday. “Our goal is to offer a lunch option in the Central Eastside neighborhood, between Bunk Sandwiches on the fast-casual end, and clarklewis on the upscale end,” writes co-owner Gabriela Ramos in the press release.
While that Singapore-style Dungeness crab slathered in sweet chili sauce isn’t on offer — probably too delightfully messy for lunch, anyway — Taylor Railworks is debuting a new Dungeness crab curry, as well as a fleet of lunch cocktails, like a spiced pineapple champagne cocktail.
The menu shows Taylor Railworks continuing in its quest to explore modern American cuisine, with all of its many cultural influences. The ricotta tortellini comes in a smoked soy broth, with matsutake mushroom, chili oil, parmesan and “a teensy egg,” for instance.
