Known for serving some of the best New York-style bagels in the city, The Bridgetown Bagel Company has opened a 15-seat, 1,000-square-foot brick and mortar at 545 NE Couch St., The O reports. Bridgetown Bagel Co. has operated as a food cart for years and is owned by Jonathan Park and Matt Kincaid, who bring experience working at one of Portland’s most missed bagel shops, Kettleman’s Bagel Co. The food cart will remain open at 5221 N.E. Sandy Blvd., which means Portland now has twice The Bridgetown bagels.
What makes Park and Kincaid’s bagels stand out is that they’re hand rolled and boiled and baked daily. Spreads run the gamut from smoked salmon cream cheese to tofutti and hummus, and you’ll also find one mean breakfast sandwich and several additional bagel sandwiches for lunch. All of Bridgetown Bagel Co.’s bagels are kosher pareve and can be made pas yisroel (with at least 48 hours notice).
The Bridgetown Bagel Co. brick and mortar is now open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The food cart operates from Wednesday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or when the bagels sell out).
