Good news for Reedies and others living near the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood: Sunday brunch returns to Bird + Bear on December 18. Bird + Bear is the second restaurant by Donald Kotler, who also runs Southeast brunch hotspot Toast. He blazed a trail in 2015, when he opened Bird + Bear on an otherwise quiet stretch of lower Holgate Boulevard.

Bird + Bear’s new brunch brings a breakfast sandwich with maple-glazed sausage and American cheese, a breakfast bowl with seasonal veggies and scrambled eggs, and a healthy selection of more lunch-y sandwiches and salads. You won’t find those egg Benedicts with hollandaise for days that Toast’s known for. You will find a Blood mary and other adult coffee alternatives. See the full menu below.

With the return of brunch, Bird + Bear temporarily halts lunch. The new hours are Wednesday to Saturday, from 4 p.m. to close, with brunch served Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
