Hold onto your hat for this grand switcheroo: After opening three restaurants in 2016, restaurateurs John and Renee Gorham (Toro Bravo, Tasty ‘N Alder) are selling their Spanish-Mexican rotisserie chicken concept, Pollo Bravo; relocating Shalom Y’All, their Israeli street food-inspired restaurant; and teaming up with new partners to replace Shalom Y’All with burger-focused spot BYH Burgers. The Gorhams founded both Pollo Bravo and Shalom Y’all inside Pine Street Market, the downtown food hall, in 2016.
Renee tells Eater Shalom Y’All will remain in operation inside Pine Street Market until the end of January, when it’ll move to 1128 SW Alder. 1128 SW Alder is currently home to the Gorham’s second Pollo Bravo location, which will close on December 31, 2016.
The Shalom Y’All kitchen will continue to be overseen by chef and co-owner Kasey Mills, and it’ll relaunch with expanded lunch, dinner, and dessert menus, as well as drink programs, the first week of February 2017.
Taking ownership of Pollo Bravo are Josh Scofield, John’s right-hand man, and Sarah Scofield, who managed Toro Bravo, will officially take ownership of Pollo Bravo, on January 1, 2017. The former Shalom Y’All will become a new burger spot called BYH Burgers at Pine Street Market, owned by Drew Sprouse, Jamal Hassan, and Toro Bravo Inc. An opening date for BYH Burgers has not been released. The Gorhams promise more details shortly.
