Spirits curator and Portland’s resident Australian bartender Jordan Felix announced he’s leaving The Multnomah Whiskey Library, Portland’s immensely cultured and most renowned whiskey bar. Felix helped to open the Library and played a defining role as its lead bartender, before moving on to the positions of bar manager and, finally, spirit curator, responsible for the literal thousands of spirits on the shelves. “To say the Library has dramatically changed my life is an understatement,” he writes in the announcement.
Over the next month, Felix will be working with his replacement: None other than Colin Howard, the former distiller at House Spirits who opened the recently shuttered Oso Market & Bar. “Colin is a true asset to this industry, and I'm excited to see how he develops the education and events with the management team,” writes Felix.
Felix has not announced the next step in his career, yet, saying, “What's next for me? I'm taking some time off. There are also some projects that we've been working on for some time, so they need to be seen to completion.” For now, the Aussie bartender plans to travel to Japan with friends for the New Year.
