It's Saturday at 9 a.m. The crowds have arrived to dive head-first into Pambiche's Cuban-style brunch, available Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Eater Portland photographer Dina Avila is there with them, to capture all the egg-flipping action (see the photos above).
Pambiche's upbeat soundtrack and brilliant color scheme are reason enough to smile, but so are its bright citrus and spice flavors. Things like fresh-squeeze tropical fruit juices and omelettes and Huevos Habaneros (Habaneros = Havana, not the fire-bomb pepper) with creolo seasonings. Order a cafe con leche and anything that involves Cuban bread, especially the custardy Cuban French Toast, to kick off your day in a Havana state of mind.
Pambiche has been one of the city's leading Cuban eateries for over a decade. Located at 2811 NE Glisan, it also serves lunch and dinner daily.
