Last week, Tasty n Sons, the O.G. restaurant from John and Renee Gorham (Tasty n Alder, Toro Bravo, Mediterranean Exploration Co.), released a late-night happy hour menu beginning nightly at 9 p.m. The move shows Tasty n Sons, known for dominating the Portland brunch scene, positioning itself as more of a dinner and bar destination—something Renee describes as "Americana soda shop." But with adult beverages.
"North Williams Street has changed so much since we first anchored the area five ago," says Renee. "The construction has brought some terrible traffic challenges, and the whole identity of the area looks and feels different. Parking is harder and honestly, I see less cyclists now than before. So we wanted to bring a little more noise and energy back into the street."
As you can see from the menu below, this comes in the form of five and ten dollar plates, like the restaurant's Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich and Chicken & Waffles, and one buck tallboys and five buck Fernet.
Additionally, Tasty n Sons' new bar manager Seth Bortolotti (Fireside, Barlow) and Mediterranean Exploration Co.'s bar manager Jamal Hassan have been reworking the cocktail menu. Below you'll find the late-night happy hour menu, along with some of the new cocktail, beer, and wine offerings.
