Aaron Adams, the chef behind the pioneering vegetarian chef's counter restaurant, Farm Spirt, has had his gnome stolen. Adams tells Eater he thought the gnome was gone forever, until he saw it pop up on local food blogger Sarah Noble's Instagram account, Nobleate—in San Francisco.
Adams says, "The gnome was given to me by an estranged friend, and I released it outside after being told you shouldn't keep a gnome inside. I posted the news on Facebook, and sure enough, two days later, the gnome was gone."
As you can see from the photos below, Noble was the culprit. Adams and Noble know one another, but Adams says he didn't know who took the gnome until he saw it on Instagram. Noble has been heavily boozing the little guy in places like San Francisco's White Chapel and Mikkeller Bar, but the gnome is also getting fed, with trips to the San Francisco farmers market and the Lazy Bears restaurant.
The unnamed gnome is still on the road, with the most recent photo posted four days ago at the San Francisco Marriot Marquis. Let's just hope he makes it back to Portland in one piece. Here are some select images and videos of the journey:
