Now open as of today at 33 NW 23rd Pl., the third Lovejoy Bakers location brings table service, brunch, and a deep fryer, and besides an entire brunch menu, there are lots of new breakfast and lunch dishes. Think custardy, French-style lox scramble; a 6-ounce burger served on a sesame bun baked onsite; fried chicken; and mac and cheese with house-made pasta, sharp cheddar, and fontina. Executive chef J. J. Harris oversaw the menu update, and he says it was a group effort, with help from Lovejoy Bakers Uptown chef de cuisine Chris Fusile and baker Megan Reed. Nowhere is this more evident than the restaurant's new Lovejoy Cinnamon Raisin Challah French Toast. "Our bakers made a really amazing cinnamon raisin challah," Harris says. "All we did was add custard."
Beginning today, March 14, Lovejoy Bakers Uptown is open daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and lunch kicks off daily at 11 a.m.
