Portland ice cream sensation Salt & Straw has debuted renderings of its first-ever soft serve shop, Wiz Bang, slated to open inside downtown's epic Pine Street Market food hall this spring, and it did so at this week's SXSW, the huge film, music, and technology festival that takes over Austin each year.
Lucky for SXSWers, Salt & Straw is also testing out its new choco tacos at the festival's food trailer park, according to Eater Austin editor Nadia Chaudhury. The dessert tacos are stuffed with ancho chile and Mexican vanilla ice cream and twice coated with Woodblock chocolate, and they are just one of the new creations to get excited about at Wiz Bang.
The renderings below were originally projected during a panel discussion about food halls featuring Salt & Straw-owner Kim Malek, and they show Wiz Bang with a long ice cream counter with stool seating, large windows, and table seating. Wiz Bang and Pine Street Market are currently on schedule to open April 1.
