Affordable tacos are coming soon to SE Division Street this spring, Eater learned yesterday.
Speaking by telephone, Stella Taco's Becky Atkins told us that she, her husband, Ian, and their business partner, Matthew Fields, have indeed signed a lease to take over the Pizza Maria's old Division Street space.
Pizza Maria's closure was one of many high-profile shutterings that came down in a heavy flurry late last year.
Atkins says that she and her team hope to brighten the space up with vibrant colors in time for an early-May opening.
Stella Taco's southeast spot will serve lunch and dinner daily, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., using much of its same Alberta Street menu—including its own brand of red and white table wines that it developed last year with Viola Wine Cellars.
Atkins says that she, Ian, and Matthew will roll out Division Street-only items—currently in the R & D phase—once the doors open.
Stay tuned.
