SOUTHEAST—Turns out that Marukin on SE Ankeny Street is not celebrating its grand opening with extended hours today. Instead, the staff there will continue to dial in its weekday only bowls and weekend afternoon and dinner only bowls before expanding to full service hours for an April 1 Grand Opening. Come then, Marukin will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
NORTHWEST—Another one bites the dust—but this time it's not as bad as it seems. A tipster informed us earlier this week that Le Bouchon, which has operated for several years at the corner of NW 14th Avenue and Glisan, served its last supper last Saturday. A phone call to Monique Musquin confirmed that the news is true, but that it's not all bad. Musquin told us that she and her husband, Claude, simply wish to retire.
SOUTHEAST—Taylor Railworks is getting into the happy hour game, and will feature discounted prices on selected regular eats, as well as daily cocktail specials and a root beer ice cream-Fernet affogato. The plan goes into effect this Sunday at the bar only, with happy hours lasting from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 9 to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.
