WEST END—SuperBite, the second restaurant from the team behind grill-house sensation Ox, is gearing up to open, and co-owner Kurt Huffman of ChefStable says it will offer a hybrid service model. Prepare for cooks delivering your food straight to your table at one of the city's most anticipated openings. [PBJ]
SOUTHEAST—The Bamboo Sushi at 310 SE 28th Ave. will close from April 17 to 22, for a major kitchen and back-of-house renovation, and it will reopen for normal business hours at 4:30 p.m., April 23. Fear withdrawal? Bamboo Sushi's other three locations will remain open throughout the renovation. [EaterWire]
NORTHEAST—Pizza Jerk, the out-of-the-pizza-box pizzeria by Bunk's Tommy Habetz, has just opened its patio. Outfitted with picnic tables with umbrellas, it adds 100 seats to the 40-seat restaurant on NE 42nd Avenue, and it will soon feature its own bar with four rotating taps.
Working with Evan Gregoire from the Portland Seed House, Pizza Jerk also just planted a onsite garden to grow fresh ingredients for its pizzas, salads, and pastas. And if that weren't enough, it's now offering Pizza and Beverage Pairing, an evolving special highlighting its seasonal pies. Currently, on offer: the Spring Chinook pizza, with house-smoked salmon, creamed spinach, green garlic, spring onions, asparagus, and dill cream, paired with a 750ml bottle of The Commons Farmhouse Ale for $40.
