As if there weren't enough local food options already at the Portland International Airport, you now have two new food carts to choose from: The Whole Bowl and Aybla Grill. Both are located before security in the Oregon Marketplace, where you'll also find a few other respectable options, like Petite Provence and Elephant's Deli. Like all of the food carts at the airport, they're open everyday except Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Whole Bowl serves wholesome bowls of grains topped with a small selection of ingredients of your choice, like black beans, salsa, and avocado—with the exclusion of anything involving meat, nuts, gluten, wheat, and hydrogenated oil. The entire menu can be "veganized," as well.
Opened in 2004, Aybla Grill harks back to the beginning of Portland food carts and now has five other locations. There, you'll find gyros, kebabs, a Greek salad, and other Mediterranean dishes. Vegetarian and vegan options and Halal meats are also available.
