On June 7, a fire engulfed Pizza Jerk, the wildly popular pizzeria by Bunk's Tommy Habetz, closing it indefinitely. Pizza Jerk was also home to Girls Club, a hotly anticipated pop-up by Mika Paredes (Beast), which had only held a single dinner when the fire took place. But this week at Han Oak, all you who are sobbing big pizza sauce tears will be able to taste Habetz and Paredes's cooking again—for a limited time only.
Manager Tyler Hauptman tells Eater the Girls Club and Pizza Jerk crew have taken over the Maritime food cart at Han Oak to make cast iron pizzas. They'll be there today through Thursday and, potentially, next week, too.
Each day, things kick off at noon, and you'll find a handful of pizzas on offer. "We're making a spring vegetable pie, char siu [Cantonese barbecue pork] pie, and a seafood pie," says Hauptman, "and we'll serve them until we run out of dough." There's also berry cobbler, fyi.
Han Oak will serve drinks, including beer and wine, and provide seating, in its sweet courtyard and dining room. The food cart will be open starting at noon today through Thursday. Keep an eye on the Girls Club Instagram to see whether it'll return for more saucy fun next week.
