Portland International Airport finally has some decent coffee options. In what has been a caffeine buzz of activity, three new coffee shops opened at PDX in July alone. On July 1, Stumptown Coffee and Peet's Coffee (Stumptown's new owner) opened, and Portland Roasting Coffee, the airport's only locally owned and operated roaster, joined them yesterday, July 18.
Portland Roasting is located front-and-center just past security near The Country Cat, between the D and E gates. It's open daily, from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., and will serve its usual line-up of drip coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, and such, along with some Portland Roasting Coffee-brand souvenirs, like travel mugs and sweatshirts. Two more Portland Roasting Coffee locations are slated to open in the airport later this year, too.
The absolutely massive Stumptown Coffee shop takes up an entire wall, located immediately following security in the ABC Concourse. According to the announcement on its website, it'll serve its coffees, including cold brew, along with pastries by Roman Candle Baking Co. Eater has also sited some tasty but pricy egg-biscuit sandwiches from The Woodsman Tavern.
Lastly, find Peet's in Concourse D. Like Portland Roasting Coffee, both Peet's and Stumptown will operate daily from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.
