SOUTHEAST—It's a long way out, but tickets won't last long, so pony up $65 and mark your calendar for Jacobsen Sea Salt's "Salt Fire Water" series on November 8, when Bollywood Theater's Troy MacLarty teams up with Chez Panisse's Cal Peternell and Carrie Lewis for a one-night-only dinner at Jacobsen's SE headquarters. Tickets are limited to 100 people, so don't sleep.
SOUTHEAST—Ava Gene's Joshua McFadden is teaming up with and hosting his old friend—Madcapra's Sara Kramer—for a night of dishes inspired by a recent trip they took to the coast of Maine (which was documented in the latest issue of Bon Appétit). Planned dishes include fried fish sandwiches, lamb gyros, and a "faux" lobster pho. These items—in addition to Ava Gene's regular menu—will be offered from 5 to 11 p.m., on Thursday, July 28. Dial 971-229-0571 or visit the restaurant online to make reservations.
NORTHEAST—All summer, Naomi Pomeroy's been inviting out-of-towners to town—and next month, she's welcoming friend and Seattle soba maker Mutsuko Soma (of the pop-up Kamonegi)—for a six-course tasting menu featuring kamo seiro-roasted duck breast and plenty of sake to sip on. The dinner goes down at Beast onTuesday, August 9, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $185, are limited to 28, and can be purchased by reserving a seat online or by dialing 503-841-6968.
