Could this be the Hawaiian poke restaurant Portland's been waiting for?

Opening July 7 on lower Hawthorne, Poke Mon is the new poke restaurant with a dining room that seats 20, white walls, green air plants, and most importantly, signature and build-your-own poke bowls by chef Colin Yoshimoto (Nodoguro, Nong's Khao Man Gai). Yesterday, we shared the stories of the owners. Today, behold photos of the interior (above) and the full Poke Mon menu (below).

Poke Mon offers both counter service and take out, and among its six signature poke bowls is the Spicy Ahi Donburi, a combination of minced ahi tun with vegetables like nori, cucumber, and sweet onion seasoned with bubu arare. It comes over rice or a green salad and topped with creamy spicy sauce for $9.75 (the Hawaiian Ahi bowl is the most expensive menu item at $11.75).

Poke Mon also lets you strut up to the counter and design your own perfect bowl of poke. Start with three "base" selections (white rice, brown rice, or mixed greens), followed by a choice of toppings, such as nori, red radish, fried garlic, kale, and bubu arare.

Next, choose your protein, from tofu, to salmon, tako octopus, and prized Hawaiian bigeye ahi. A tofu bowl costs $7.75; several seafood options clock in at $9.75; and that bigeye will run you $10.75. Finally, there are four sauce options, plus optional $1 add-ons like Choi's Kimchi and avocado.

Once Poke Mon rolls out its complete drink menu, drinks will run the gamut from soft drinks to cocktails, with wine, beer, and sake in between. During the first opening weeks, your options may be limited.

Poke Mon is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with plans to expand hours to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, once up and running. Here's the full menu:
