Grab-and-go rotisserie chicken looms larger than Godzilla over this city, and opening in 2014, Pollo Norte introduced an inexpensive, Mexico City-style option, quickly earning a reputation for running out of birds due to demand. Now there's John Gorham's Pollo Bravo, with two locations, and Providore Fine Food's Arrosto, among other similar fast-casual roasted chicken spots. It's prompted a dash for prime real estate, and Pollo Norte shows it won't take the fight lying down: Its opening a second location at 2935 N.E. Glisan St. this fall, The O reports—and it will have motorcycle delivery.
Taking over the former Kerns Kitchen, Pollo Norte says it'll introduce a bar program focused on tequila, mezcal, and rum. The O writes:
Pollo Norte will open its second location in the Kerns neighborhood this fall. The new restaurant will add cocktails, a sunny patio, and motorcycle delivery from a central base of operations to the restaurant's tight menu of rotisserie chicken, beans, rice and tender cabbage. The new location will feature a full bar with bar snacks and cocktails, including margaritas, palomas, and a tamarind-rum cocktail that Gibson is still planning.
No official opening date has been released. Stay tuned.
