Sellwood's beloved Portland Bottle Shop is expanding into the next door space to offer more seating and full lunch and dinner menus. "I'm going back to where I started 30 years ago, in the kitchen," says Portland Bottle Shop owner Travis Motter, who's worked in the beverage industry for more than 30 years. "We will be focusing on the items that I grew up with."

These include sandwiches like two styles of meatball sub and a classic Italian cold cut, as well as soups, salads, fries with a variety of seasonings, and a kids menu. Portland Bottle Shop's selection of on-tap beers will expand from four to eight taps, and Motter tells Eater he's also adding a deeper bottle selection. The bottle shop already offers indoor and outdoor seating, snacks like baked artichoke dip and meat and cheese boards, and bubbles and around ten wines by the glass.

Construction begins today, September 1, and though you'll find brown paper over some of the windows, Portland Bottle Shop will remain open for the most part. Motter only anticipates closing for a week or two mid-October to take down the dividing wall between the old and new spaces. The shop hopes to throw a grand opening celebration by the end of October. When it reopens, prepare for new hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
