Eb & Bean On Division Aims For A Mid-November Opening

Prepare yourself for salty-sweet flavor combinations from Portland’s only artisan frozen yogurt maker

In the last two years, Eb & Bean’s Elizabeth Nathan has dreamt up more than 100 flavor combinations for her artisan frozen yogurt line. And we all know that she’s planned on bringing those flavors from her Northeast Portland shop to her new SE Division Street shop sometime soon.

But we now know when that will likely happen. Nathan says she hopes to be topping those frozen yogurt bowls, cups, and cones by mid-November.

Nathan says the 26-seat space will share a patio with Bollywood Theater and will offer eight flavors—including a trio made with your choice of almond, cashew, or coconut milk—and your choice of 20-plus toppings, many of which are made especially for Nathan by Bakeshop’s Kim Boyce.

Nathan will also offer homemade vegan magic shell flavors and scratch-made waffle cones.

Like its big sister on NE Broadway, Eb & Bean will swap out flavors based on seasonal availability. That means that throughout the year you’re likely to see specialty frozen yogurts like palm sugar-peanut butter, black sesame, lime curd, Earl Grey-caramel made with Steven Smith Teamaker’s Lord Bergamot tea, and Groundwork Organic sweet corn.

And Nathan says that now that Smith is offering nitro tea, she plans on serving it, alongside tap cold coffee and tap kombucha.

Eb & Bean: 3040 SE Division St.; Expected hours: noon to 10 p.m., daily, with extended hours on summer weekends
