The out-of-the-pizza-box pizzeria from Bunk's Tommy Habetz opened its doors at the end of 2015 to serve a mix of traditional and creative pizzas, from Connecticut-style clam pies to slices slathered in dan dan sauce. 2016 showed up hard, and a devastating fire closed Pizza Jerk in June. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but it came at a poor time: In the coming weeks, Pizza Jerk would be named one of the best new restaurants in the nation by Bon Appetit and one of the best pizzerias in the country by Thrillist.
