Big things are coming to Milwaukie Avenue across from the Aladdin Theater: The owner of Pok Pok Andy Ricker confirms on social media that 3120 S.E. Milwaukie Ave. will soon be home to Pok Pok Wing. Ricker first developed his wing-centric concept in New York City in 2011, and it was Pok Pok's first location on the East Coast. Ricker closed Pok Pok Wing NYC in 2012, allegedly because the restaurant couldn't keep up with demand, and to make way for his pad thai-focused restaurant, Pok Pok Phat Thai. Pok Pok Wing then temporarily operated as a food cart at Portland International Airport from 2014 to 2015.
Over the years, Pok Pok Wing has been dedicated to serving the iconic Ike's Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings, a few sides, and one or two other dishes. It those in the neighborhood can prepare for the same. Ricker's tweet reads:
Rumors true: we have taken Milwaukie Teriyaki space. Pok Pok Wing: quick serve wings, fried chicken, papaya salad, buns! Opening this fall.
