Peek Inside NE Killingsworth’s Tiffin Asha

From vintage tuk tuk, to silver-plated cups

Tiffin Asha, the one-time food cart with a large following for its “Hot Chick” stuffed dosa, is officially up and running at 1670 NE Killingworth St., right across the street from barbecue hotspot Podnah’s Pit and Thai fried chicken shop Hat Yai. Take a tour of the decor in the photo gallery above.

Tiffin Asha is a full-service restaurant with a dining room capable of seating 36. Distressed furniture gives a rustic vibe, and nods toward India are in every corner, including a legit vintage tuk tuk.

Owners Elizabeth Golay and Sheila Bommakanti founded Tiffin Asha as a food cart in 2013. The restaurant is currently open and serving Thursday through Monday, from 5 to 10 p.m. Find expanded food and drink menus on the website, adding dishes like pork meatball kababs with cashew butter and candied kumquat to those adored dosas.
