On January 21, the PDX Sliders food cart fired up its grills at its first brick and mortar, located at 1605 SE Bybee, near a bustling intersection in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood. Owned by Ryan Rollins, PDX Sliders is best-known for its huge Yelp following—to the point that National Geographic gave the spot a shoutout, naming it one of the top 10 best burger spots in the entire nation in 2016, based on said Yelp ratings.

Regardless of how you may feel about Yelp, PDX Sliders makes everything from scratch, and the brick and mortar brings a new menu, including cocktails, new salads, loaded fries, and both sliders and full-sized burger options. The “Sellwood,” for instance, features a beef patty with sharp cheddar cheese from Seattle's Beecher's, bacon, caramelized onions, butter lettuce, and aioli, on a brioche bun. It costs $4.50 for a slider and $9 for full-size.

PDX Sliders started as a food cart in 2014, and the last year saw it launch a number of collaborations. It is one of a handful of food carts operating inside of Koi Fusion’s new Cart Lab bar and micro-restaurant eatery, located off downtown’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park. It also furnished the burgers at Ancestry Brewing’s Sellwood taproom, but that collaboration halted in November 2016.

PDX Sliders is now open Sunday through Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. See a recent copy of the new menu:
