As reported over the summer, one of the heavy hitters of the Portland beer scene, The Commons Brewery, is closing its Southeast brewery and taproom, and now Portland beer whisperer Ezra Johnson-Greenough has the official closing date: The Commons Brewery will cease operations on November 11 at 630 SE Belmont St.
Expect The Commons Brewery to hold regular hours through October 29. From October 30 to November 11, it’ll operate Monday through Thursday, from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, from noon to 10 p.m.
Fans of The Commons will find heartening news tucked into the New School Beer blog’s coverage. “It seems now more than likely the C will be back in one form or another,” Johnson-Greenough writes.
San Diego-based Modern Times Beer aims to be up and running in the venue by January 1, 2018.
