Since flipping on the burners in June 2016 at 1005 SE Ankeny St., Rue has served some of the most fun vegetable dishes in Portland, and they’re now available at a discount all night on Thursdays. Starting October 5, Rue is doing all-night happy hour on Thursdays beginning at 5 p.m. (see the menu below).
Dishes to look out for are the deeply discounted Jersey burger — a pâté patty topped with American cheese for $7 (usually $21) — as well as the playful plates demonstrating Rue’s vegetable obsession. Case in point is the albacore tartare ($12): fresh tuna given an almost Dr. Seussian appearance with green coriander and sliced shishito peppers.
“Rue began as a reflection of the new food movement in Paris combined with the amazing produce of the Pacific Northwest,” says chef-owner Jason Roberts. “That hasn't changed, but the menu is a bit more playful now. Our happy hour is an homage to the guilty-pleasure, which we're having a lot of fun with.”
